Set in a coastal area of the Quang Binh province, the wind farm is one of the largest in Vietnam to date.
The wind farm are gradually turning arid white sandy beaches into energy farm stretching endlessly.
With total investment of VND8,904 billion ($386.96 million), the B&T wind farm cluster Project which has been approved for addition to the revised Power VII Master Plan by the Prime Minister combines 2 farms. The first, B&T 1, has a capacity of 100.8MW and is expected to start operation in December 2020, while the second has a capacity of 151.2MW and is expected to come into operation in June 2021.
With a system of 50 wind turbines with a height of 145m like modern, environmentally friendly “windmills”, spread along the coastal area of Quang Binh, Quang Binh wind farm will be the highlight for this sea. It is expected to be the foundation to develop more suitable tourism models and projects for Quang Binh in general, Quang Ninh and Le Thuy districts in particular.
Being put into operation in the third quarter of 2021, Quang Binh wind farm already attracted Quang Binh young people who love to explore and travel to come and take their own “check-in” photos.
To come here, you will go from Dong Hoi, follow Highway 1A through Quan Hau bridge, then turn left along the road to avoid floods with scenery on both sides of the romantic sandy beach and sea. Then you continue to go straight for about 9-10 km, you will see the wind blades far away on the left side of the road.
The scenery here is very beautiful and poetic. The turbines are like giant pinwheels, next to the blue lake, spoiled for creating impressive and virtual live photos. Quang Binh wind farm promises to be one of the must-visit places if tourists have the opportunity to travel to Quang Binh.
