Quang Binh is a province in the central region of Vietnam, is known to over 400 manigficent caves system and is “Kingdom of the Cave”. Let’s learn with Phongnha Discovery to list the top caves you should not miss when coming to Quang Binh:

Phong Nha Cave

Phong Nha Cave is located in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park and the most typical scenery here. The cave has 2 parts: the dry cave with an altitude 200m and the wet cave with an underground river. The cave is 7,729m long, including 14 main caves, the underground river is 13,969m long. The cave entrance about 10m high, 20 -25m wide. The stalactites in the cave were created over millions of years from karst limestone, absorbed by rainwater, dissolved and flowed down to form extremely strange stalactites such as lion shapes, throne shapes, and Buddha images,...

Paradise Cave

Paradise Cave is located in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park in Phong Nha Town, Bo Trach District, Quang Binh Province. About 60km from Dong Hoi in the west-north.

The cave was founded in 2005 by a local man. From 2005 – 2010, the British Research Cave Association was discovered and announced this is the longest dry cave in Asia with a total long 31.4 km. The beauty of stalactites and stalagmites in the cave is the reason named Paradise Cave. According to the evaluation by the British Research Cave Association, this cave is bigger and more beautiful than Phong Nha Cave.

Tien Son Cave

Tien Son Cave is located in Tram Me Village, Phong Nha Town and belongs to the service – an administrative subdivision of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. This cave is located halfway up the mountain, from Phong Nha Cave entrance 200m. To visit Tien Son Cave, visitors must climb 583 steps. The cave is located at altitude of 200m above sea level, 120m above Son River and have temperature from 18-20 degrees celsius, cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Hang Son Doong

Son Doong Cave is a cave in Tan Trach Commune, Bo Trach District, Quang Binh Province. This is the largest cave in the world. This cave is located in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang cave complex. This is part of an underground system connected to more than 150 other caves in Vietnam near the border with Laos. The New York Times ranked Son Doong Cave 8th out of 52 places on the list of places to visit in 2014.

Tu Lan Cave System

Tu Lan is an isolated cave system formed along the Rao Nan river originating from Thuong Hoa, Trung Hoa, Dan Hoa, Hoa Son and Tan Hoa Communes, in Minh Hoa District. The entire limestone cave system is concentrated in the area of Tan Hoa Commune, Minh Hoa District and Cao Quang Commune, Tuyen Hoa District, Quang Binh Province, about 70km south of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. Northwest of the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail.

Tu Lan Cave System is located in the primeval forest and limestone mountains with an area of more than 650 hectares in Tan Hoa Commune, Minh Hoa District, Quang Binh Province. The forest is connected by 8 different valleys and mountain ranges through underground rivers and cave systems.

Dark Cave

Chay River - Dark Cave tourist area is located in the territory of Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. With a depth of 20m and a height of 40m, Dark Cave has become a tourist attraction for many tourists. The reason the cave is called "Dark" is because the "dark light" inside the cave entrance is thick, making it feel like you can touch it. This is a cave that can only be visited with a headlamp and there is no artificial lighting setup inside the cave. Visiting Dark Cave, you will experience the feeling of ziplining over the Chay River, kayaking, bathing in the lake deep inside the cave, especially experiencing natural mud bathing activities deep inside the Cave.

Hang En

Hang En - one of the largest natural caves in the world, is located deep in the core area of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh Province. Possessing a large geological fault line, Hang En has a majestic size with more than 1.6km stretching through a giant limestone block right in the core area of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh Province. There are 3 entrances to the cave, of which the largest and most famous cave entrance is 120m high and 110m wide.

Cha Loi Cave

Cha Loi cave system (in Ngan Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, Quang Binh) is located next to Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, about 40km southwest of Dong Hoi city center. This place once left the mark of General Vo Nguyen Giap - the General of the Vietnam People's Army and is also home to the Bru Van Kieu ethnic group.
