From November 24 to 30, 2026, Quang Tri is expected to host its first Culture and Tourism Week under the theme “Brilliant Wonders – The Sacred Land of Fire.” Events are planned across Phong Nha, Quang Tri Citadel, the Hien Luong – Ben Hai banks and Dong Hoi, bringing together performances, a hot-air balloon festival, food experiences and opportunities to discover the province’s cultural heritage.
The week is envisioned as the starting point for a program expected to return on the 24th of each month. For visitors, it offers a chance to experience Quang Tri through different lenses in one journey: its natural landscapes and historic sites, local culture, food and community stories.
Opening in Phong Nha with performances and fireworks
The opening ceremony is scheduled for November 24, from 8:10 to 9:40 p.m., at the Phong Nha Commune Stadium. The themed artistic program, “Brilliant Wonders – The Sacred Land of Fire,” is expected to include the announcement of international titles for Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, followed by high-altitude fireworks. The program is planned for live broadcast on Quang Tri Newspaper and Radio and Television.

Phong Nha is also set to host “Hanoi Culture and Cuisine in Quang Tri,” themed “The Flavors of Thang Long in the Heart of Heritage.” The event will introduce aspects of Hanoi’s culture and cuisine in the province’s heritage landscape, adding another experience for residents and visitors.
Hot-air balloons, food and historic landmarks
From November 25 to 28, the Quang Tri International Hot-Air Balloon Festival 2026 is expected to take place at two locations associated with the country’s history.
Quang Tri Citadel | November 25–26
For the first two days, activities are planned around the Special National Monument of Quang Tri Citadel, in Quang Tri Ward. It is an opportunity to explore a place shaped by history while taking in the festive atmosphere of Culture and Tourism Week.
Hien Luong - Ben Hai banks | November 27–28
On November 27 and 28, the festival is expected to move to the southern bank of the Special National Monument of the Hien Luong - Ben Hai banks, in Ben Hai Commune. The river and its historic bridge evoke a defining chapter in Vietnam’s past. The event will offer visitors another reason to pause, learn about the site and appreciate the peaceful landscape of today.

The program also includes the Quang Tri International Cuisine Space 2026. If held as planned, it will give visitors a chance to take in familiar heritage sites during the celebrations while discovering a range of flavors and culinary traditions.
Music, cinema and community events
The schedule continues with a press conference in Hanoi on November 26 to introduce Quang Tri National Tourism Year 2027. On November 29, the final round of the first Quang Tri Provincial Singing Festival 2026 is planned at the Provincial Culture and Cinema Center in Dong Hoi Ward. From November 24 to 30, a mobile film week themed “Vietnamese Cinema – Celebrating Culture, Connecting Communities” is expected to visit several mountainous communes.
Local activities across communes, wards and special zones are expected to reflect local conditions and connect with Vietnam Culture Day and community life. Plans include public performances, folk games, presentations of intangible heritage, folk singing and dance, and traditional crafts. The province is also launching the “Discover the Land of Wonders” photo and video contest, inviting residents and visitors to share the landscapes, culture and people of Quang Tri.
A week, many ways to experience Quang Tri
The appeal of Culture and Tourism Week lies in more than an opening night or a show in the sky. From Phong Nha - Ke Bang to Quang Tri Citadel and the Hien Luong - Ben Hai banks, the planned program brings nature, historical memory and living culture together. If the events go ahead as scheduled, visitors will have more reasons to stay longer, explore several destinations and meet Quang Tri through the experiences that give the province its distinct character.
