Tien Son Cave reopend to welcome visitor from December 21th 2023

After a period of closure to upgrade and repair facilities, from December 21st, Tien Son Cave (World Natural Heritage Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park) reopened to welcome visitors with many new experiences.

Tien Son Cave is located in Tram - Me residential group, Phong Nha Town, in the service - administrative subdivision of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. This cave is located halfway up the mountain, 200 meters from Phong Nha cave entrance, belonging to the Phong Nha cave system. To visit the cave, visitors must pass 583 steps. The cave is located at an altitude of 200 m above sea level, 120 m above the Son River and has temperatures ranging from 18-20 degrees celsius, cool in summer and warm in winter.

According to documents, Tien Son cave was discovered by local people in April 1935. In 1936, French archaeologist Madeleine Colani went to the cave to look for ancient Vietnamese relics in the cave but could not find them. However, Madeleine Colani believes that the landscape of Tien Son cave is like a fairyland. In 1999, British Caving Assosiation conducted a survey of this entire 980.6 m long cave and Quang Binh put it into tourism exploitation on April 9, 2000. The cave welcomes tens of thousands of visitors each year.

Phong Nha - Ke Bang Tourism Center to say that during the time Tien Son cave was closed, the unit renovated the system of walkways, stops, check-in photos, and ecological roofs made of climbing flower plants, rocky mountain flower road. The glass bridge was newly invested so that visitors can see the rice fields, corn fields, and sugar cane fields right at the foot of the mountain. Visitors can take check-in photos at a height of nearly 100 m above the Son River level and is the first glass bridge in Quang Binh.

In addition, the center also installed reducing Led lighting system to minimize the impact on creatures and stalactite systems inside the cave while still ensuring enough lighting for visitors.

The Tien Son Cave ticket fee is 80.000vnd/turn if visitor from 1,3m, under 1,3m is free. The transportation boat is 550,000vnd/trip, maximum 12 people. In case tourist choose visit 2 cave( Phong Nha Cave and Tien Son Cave) the boat fee is still 550,000vnd/trip.

Visitors take a circular route inside the cave by two separate paths, the entrance length is 400 m and the exit length is 400 m. Going deep into the cave, visitors can admire the masterpieces from the process of forming the cave over tens of millions of years, the multi-shaped stalactites, watch the silver stream, the mysterious cave, the love chamber...
