Phong Nha Cave is situated in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh province, approximately 45 km from Dong Hoi city center. This cave is considered as one of the most stunning caves in the world and was granted the World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003. The cave has a poetic name which means "the wind that flow  through the teeth’s gap" due to the presence of drooping stalagmites at the entrance, creating an image that matches the name Phong Nha.

The cave has a length of over 7 km and features a breathtaking system of stalactites and stalagmites that come in various shapes and sizes. With the help of colorful lighting, the stalactites create a magical scene that is truly mesmerizing. In addition to its beauty, the cave also boasts a river that is over 13,969 m long and 12 other caves. The entrance of the cave is about 10 m high and 25 m wide.

Visitors can take a boat ride on the Son River to reach Phong Nha cave. Upon arrival, they will need to walk approximately 1000 meters to access the cave. There are two main routes for sightseeing within the cave: a short route and a long route. The short route is about 1,500 meters long, while the long route extends for about 4,500 meters.

  • Motorbike: You can rent a motorbike or ride your own if you prefer. As the distance between Dong Hoi and Phong Nha is not too far, you can enjoy the scenery along the way without worrying about your health.
  • Bus: There are many bus routes available from Dong Hoi to Phong Nha at different times of the day, so it's easy to travel to the Phong Nha tourist center by bus.

Paradise Cave

Located in the Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park complex, Thien Duong Cave is only about 23-25km away from Phong Nha Cave. Visitors can easily visit Thien Duong Cave after visiting Phong Nha without spending too much time. This cave is considered by the cave exploration organization to be the longest dry cave in Asia, with a length of 31.4km. There are two types of tours available to explore Thien Duong Cave: Basic Tour (1km) and Expedition Tour (4km or 7km depending on weather conditions).
