The Department of Culture and Sports of Quang Binh province has announced that they will be hosting the National Traditional Boat Racing Championship in 2024. This event is scheduled to take place from April 21 to 27, 2024 at the romantic Nhat Le River in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh. It promises to be an exciting sporting event that will bring many emotions to both tourists and locals.

Quang Binh is renowned for its many traditional boat racing festivals, which attract both domestic and foreign tourists. Each festival has a distinct culture, expressed through sacrificial rituals, costumes, songs, and more. One of the most famous festivals is the Kien Giang River Boat Racing Festival.

The program is aimed to commemorate the 420th anniversary of the formation of Quang Binh Province (1604 - 2024), 75 years of Quang Binh's Resurrection Day (July 15, 1949 - July 15, 2024), and 35 years of Provincial Reestablishment Day (July 1, 1989 - July 1, 2024).

This year's festival will feature 20 male and female boat racing teams from communities with a strong tradition of boat racing. The racing teams will compete in the 10-person boat and 20-person boat events at distances of 200m, 500m, and 1,000m.
